It is indeed an honor to welcome the great foootball fans from Grambling State University and Alcorn State University to the 2011 Port City Classic!
This historic event will be held at Independence Stadium in beautiful Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011. As Mayor, I am more than pleased to bring this battle back to the banks of the Red River where it belongs.
Please know that the City of Shreveport is proud to host an event of this magnitude, and we are fully committed to making sure everyone wins — at least off the field.
I extend my sincere thanks to the Administration, Staff, and Athletic Departments of both universities for their outstanding commitment to bringing a quality athletic event to our region.
